So I took a bath today. I haven’t done that since I was about 6 and had chicken pox. Man chicken pox sucked big time eh? Makes me think of other things I haven’t done since I was six. Once when I was around six, I shot a bird with my BB gun and killed it, so did my friend. We felt bad and went inside. Haven’t done that since…

I found out today that one of my all time heroes, my coach for P.E. in elementary school, died today. I have no idea how, I haven’t wanted to go online and find out, but he was a great guy, who I got to play golf with my dad, etc. I even emailed him randomly, after all this time, about 6 months ago, and said… “Hey I’m matt pollitt, I was in your class, and I still remember it, you’re a great guy”, not in those exact words, but he emailed me back, said he remembered me and thanked me for contacting him, etc. It was really nice, and now, months later, he’s dead. Makes me wish I would have said more things to my grandparents before they died. Which makes me think, I should really call my grandmother, the only grandparent I have left, more often. I’m a bastard when it comes to things like that.

I went to the Neo-Nazi rally in Orlando this Saturday. It was awesome. I was there as a journalist to conduct an interview and more importantly, take photos. I really like how some of them turned out, they’re on the front page of the newspaper for today. Here’s a link to the PDF if you want to see it: Click here to download. It’s pretty interesting, and its going to definitaly get printed and put on my wall.

That’s another thing I haven’t done in a while, put some of my photos on my wall. The ones I have up now are of… well mostly football, the first game of the season, and a couple from Alaska/Canada. Speaking of far away places, I’m going to be doing a lot of traveling soon. I’m going to the Bahamas for Spring Break 2006 (Angry Pirate Tour with my Fraternity), and I’m going to take a ton of pictures. That should be fun. Then this summer, I plan to go to Vermont / New Hampshire for a Fraternity event for about a week, then fly to Chicago for a Film fights convention for like 4-5 days, then maybe fly to North Carolina for … well I’m not sure yet but this girl who is the girlfriend of one of my brothers invited us there because they’re rich or something like that. So that would be about a month of traveling straight, no going home.

Sometimes you just gotta do stuff like that to get away, and for me, as long as I have my camera, the internet, and maybe some xanax, I’m a self entertaining person who is relatively happy.

I put up some more photos on my new site, MattPollitt.com, so you can check those out, the galleries are constantly updated, and you can even buy some of them, for what I believe, are reasonable prices.

Feel free to leave me comments telling me how you are doing, especially if I haven’t talked to you in a long time, because I am interested, I truly am. It’s weird that I decided to start writing here again; I guess I do it more for the future… not my future, but my children. It’s the reason I make movies, take photos, and make video blogs, for my children to really see who I was when I was younger. I hope to compose it all on a hard drive, and when he/she/they turn 18, I will give them it before they go off to college, and say “Son/daughter, this was my life. I never really got to know jack shit about my parents when I was growing up, about how they lived their younger years, and it always really pissed me off, maybe you don’t care, but I figured either way, you should have a fair chance to find out who I really was”. Yah that’s a nice thought.

The next big thing from Canon has been independently confirmed. This thing looks sweet.

“Norwegian camera site Fotografi.no has posted some pics of a camera the site claims is Canon’s next DSLR, the 35D. The pics are significantly sharper than last month’s images, courtesy of a Chinese site, that purported to show a camera referred to as the 30D, and look like professional product shots. According to Fotografi.no, the camera is due to be announced at a Canon press conference in Oslo on February 21, and is expected to be a 10 megapixel model. We weren’t aware that Oslo was the center of the photographic universe, so we’re not sure why Canon’s press conference is being held there, especially since PMA is just a few days later in Orange County (which isn’t the center of the photographic universe either, but will be for a few days). We’ll reserve judgment for now, and will resist all temptation to lump the Norwegian press conference invitation in with other interesting invitations we’ve seen recently. ” – engadget.com

“Two independent sources have confirmed that the picture is real and accurate. Preliminary technical info indicates a 10 megapixel, 1.3 crop CMOS sensor. This info is unconfirmed, but they are working on it.” – FredMiranda.com Forum Member
